Assault Bikes for Weight Loss

As a personal trainer, I know it can be tough when you want to lose weight and are not sure of the best way to do it. Whether you’ve tried different approaches in the past or are completely new to it all, I wanted to discuss the real benefits of using an assault bike. We all know that cardio exercise is the best form of exercise, but by should you bother with what are often called air resistance exercise bikes or fan bikes?

In the following post, we are going to look at the major benefits of using assault bikes instead of the alternative. Before that though, let’s just clear up what an assault bike actually is.

What is an Assault Bike?

This is a type of exercise bike that utilises a fan, hence its name, to produce wind resistance. This basically means, like other forms of resistance in exercise machines, that to pedal faster, you need to pedal harder. All the while, your obliques, abs, arms, back and chest are being toned in twice as fast a time, while you benefit from the full workout including the pushing and pulling of the handles to increase your speed and power.

Now for those benefits.

Workout for the Whole Body

As you’ll notice from the description, the biggest benefit of using an assault bike is how effective it is at providing a workout for the entire body. You are engaging your lower body muscles with the pedals and the resistance being produced, while at the same time engaging your upper body muscles when moving the handles.

This increases the effectiveness of the cardio workout you are given while using one of these ingenious machines. Meaning you are burning an incredible number of calories and shifting that weight much quicker than using an alternative.

Adjustable Positions

Following nicely from the above, another huge benefit that comes with using an assault bike to lose weight is that you can adjust the position your body is placed at on the bike. As the seats on assault bikes tend to be adjustable, you can adjust to make your workouts more comfortable, but also to shift where you are placing the most effort on your body. You also have the option of really pushing your weight loss goals by switching between the various sitting and standing pedalling options you have with this type of bike.

Adjustable Resistance

As is the case with any resistance-based cardio exercise machine, you can adjust the level of resistance you need to work out against. This is another proven way to reach target weight loss goals quicker. You can quickly change a nice pleasant cycle workout into a gruelling endurance-builder that works your muscles harder than ever before. This also stops your workouts from getting too samey and tedious, which will help motivate you to stick at it.

Easy to Use

The first benefit we really want to discuss, which is important if you are not a regular attendee of the gym or haven’t worked out for some time is that assault bikes are very easy to use. Aside from making various adjustments, as we will go into further down the page, you just need to sit on one of these machines, pedal like crazy, and then get back off when you are done. There is nothing complicated and or convoluted involved in using one.
