10 Great Fitness Apps to Help You Get Motivated

A lack of motivation can seriously harm your fitness regime, so we’ve got 10 great fitness apps that will help you get back into your stride. Let’s have a look at them.

Runkeeper

One of the original planning and tracking apps, Runkeeper is still the go-to app for keeping track of your runs, walks or rides via GPS. Accurate and simple, it’s a must have app if running or cycling is your thing and will help you plan new routes.

Pact

This clever app makes you pay if you don’t achieve your goals – quite literally! You set a workout routine or a health benchmark for each week and if you don’t get there, your card gets charged. If you do, you get a share of the money from those who don’t!

Charity Miles

A great idea for inspiration. With Charity Miles, you run or walk, and the app tracks you, and for every mile your chosen charity gets $2. The money comes from the app’s sponsors, so you’re doing good while exercising.

Zombies, Run!

Part fun game, part fitness app, you enjoy your run inspired to get on with it as a baying pack of zombies follow you! It may sound silly but it’s good fun, and you can interact with others by collecting virtual supplies to help them.

Yonder

Anyone who loves the outdoors will love Yonder. You enter your location, and it gives you routes for walking and running, hiking and biking, and even kayaking in the locality. Great if you don’t enjoy the gym but want to keep fit.

Freeletics

A resource offering access to hundreds of body workouts that don’t need any equipment, Freeletics is a great app if you simply want to try new things. It’s very popular, and you’ll see why when you start using it.

MyFitnessPal

This widely used app helps you match your fitness routine with your diet, including over one million food items in its database. Log the meals you eat at home as well as those when eating out and link up with others for a chat and to get advice or share yours.

Yoga Wake Up

A great way to start the day, Yoga Wake Up gives you a 10-minute mild yoga session each morning that you can use to loosen up and get into the day easily. If early morning motivation is your problem, then this could be the app for you.

Blogilates

A Pilates-inspired video workout app hosted by Cassie Ho should be enough to motivate anyone to get up and go! Free to use, but you can upgrade and get tailored weekly workout schedules for a mere $0.99 a week.

Johnson & Johnson Official 7-Minute Workout

If lack of time saps your motivation, try this clever app. Choose the intensity level of the workout and – should you wish – add the warming up and cooling down sectors, and you have a great workout of no more than 11 minutes to keep you in trim.

That’s 10 great fitness and health apps for you to try, so why not check them out and see which will work for you.
